Men: How To Approach An Argument
Already I feel nervous: as though my house is presently being surrounded by very annoyed women who just know what I am about to write next. And I have good reason to feel nervous, too. The last time I started an argument with a woman it exploded in a furious rage of…Me on the floor with my hands over my head, and something hitting me. I believe it was a rolling-pin but I can’t be sure. Anyway, I thought it was about time that somebody tackled this highly delicate issue.
Men, here is how to approach and not approach an argument with a woman:
1) Timing: it doesn’t matter whether the hairdresser is using her thinning scissors , and you’d quite like to bring up a point about what she’s just done to your hair that will almost certainly end in disaster, or if you’re about to enter an argument with your wife. In this pre-argument time you should be mentally preparing for what is to come. Do this by telling yourself you are a man, and by reading her body language. First, get her to put down an makeshift weapons, that’s always a good start.
2) Enter argument territory but protect yourself: so many men enter an argument with their pants down and their pride exposed. Not literally, of course, because that’s asking for disaster. What I mean is you need to make sure your face is set in a friendly expression, and that you’ve thought your side of the argument through. Don’t do this at your peril…
3) When in the argument, have a safety exit: always know where the exits in a room are before you begin, and keep a mental map in your mind as the argument takes grip of your raging woman. That way, when the worst case scenario strikes, you’ll be ready to make a run for it!
Most arguments happen in the car. Exits may not be the easiest thing there, so choose your battles wisely. How are your Driving experiences?
